Application in a nutshell

What is the application for?

The starting point into AHEAD is the four-day Bootcamp – Fraunhofer researchers can apply for it twice a year: either for the Bootcamp in spring (deadline in January/February) or in fall (deadline in July). During the Bootcamp we will challenge your project and on day 4, you will pitch for AHEAD phase 1.

What kind of projects can receive support?

We support entrepreneurial transfer projects based on Fraunhofer technology: spin-offs (with or without Fraunhofer-external co-founders), Fraunhofer-external start-ups with technology need (via COLAB), and licensing to established companies.

What are the requirements for an application?

You have a Fraunhofer technology, that meets the minimum TRL criteria (find below) + is free to operate
You have an initial business or product idea
You meet the requirements towards your project team (find below)

Next Bootcamp: April 5 - 8, 2027 (as participation with all team members is mandatory, we recommend to block your calendars right now)
